About
Finance With Sharan, also known as Sharan Hegde, became famous by making fun personal finance content on Instagram and YouTube. He mixes comedy and dressing up in costumes to make his content engaging. To help his most dedicated social media followers become wealthier, he started The 1% Club.
Problem
When he joined us, he had 20,000 subscribers on his personal finance education platform. The challenge was to significantly increase his subscriber base and engagement levels across multiple platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and the newly introduced WhatsApp, while maintaining the authenticity and comedic essence of his content.

Launching a WhatsApp newsletter and introducing gamification to engage subscribers further, using native technology to facilitate interaction.
Utilizing the email and WhatsApp newsletters as funnels to promote Sharan’s 1% Club, a paid personal finance education platform, by partially blurring content for non-paying members and directing them to the 1% Club landing page for full access.
Impact
A tenfold increase in the subscriber base, from 20,000 to 200,000 subscribers, significantly expanded Sharan's reach and influence in the personal finance education space.
Successful launch and rapid growth of the WhatsApp newsletter, becoming the country's largest WhatsApp newsletter with 45,000 subscribers on the first day.
High engagement rates among paying subscribers, with over 15% engaging daily with the WhatsApp newsletter content, indicating strong subscriber interest and interaction.
Results
The strategic content and engagement efforts resulted in more than 2,000 readers becoming paying members of the 1% Club, generating an additional $200,000 in revenue.
